day 18.5 post II

All,
Success! A very weird, unusual, abnormal, unique, bazaar, indescribable, success.

Awesome news. I liked Janice's adnormal thought, good stuff.

You missed another ordinary day at Summit - Jud showed a Veggie Tales movie for the sermon ("Lord of the Beans") talking about the spiritual discipline of silence. Jimmy and the choir did the Macarena while Bob Kimmer led the Ironmen in a verse of "Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam". A great day was had by all.

Praying for everything to "take" and that you are back here before we know it!

Much love, Russ Sandy & Rin

Aaron and Denise,

Well, this success deserves a hearty "Hallelujah, Amen!" Aaron, a few days ago you posted a poem by Kipling that obviously means a great deal to you. I must say I was inspired! Having been mentored by the greatest theologians and published authors (you know who you are), I was led to pen a poem for you and Denise. Please forgive the verbosity of this great literary piece, but I feel it greatly summarizes your incredible journey. (You may want to get that drink and snack before you begin. It may be lengthy, but it's been called a masterpiece!) Here goes:

"Twas the night before surgery and all through the house,
Our Pastor was stirring, yes, even his spouse.
Tney were all busy packing for a long road ahead,
For this day was something they had both come to dread.
But God up in heaven can never be wrong,
Test us, He will, to see if our faith is that strong.
The road to St. Petersburg seemed it took years,
Silently they fought to hold back all the tears.
In the midst of the fear and they faith they both had,
Missing VBS was the ultimate bad!
They may have been absent in body that day,
But a call from the kids where little Jack prayed
Lifted their spirits soaring to new heights,
All sorrow and sadness had vanished from sight.
Their faith and their friends would not let them down,
A smile now appeared instead of a frown.
We waited and prayed for the word-"All is good!"
Aaron pulled through like we all prayed he would.
Now Pastor would wait nine long days just to eat
A banana popsicle-his favorite frozen treat.
His road to recovery has been filled with much pain
But without the discomfort, there's nothing to gain.
An internet diary kept us all in the loop.
We couldn't believe we were praying for poop!
Well wishes were sent from far and wide
His precious bride, Nise, never once left his side.
Through all the pain, the tubes, and the pokes,
A welcomed relief were the Traylor's sons' jokes!
We laughed, we cried, and we laughed some more.
Some comments were blogged...and our jaws hit the floor!
We knew it would happen but didn't know when
Our dear beloved Pastor would start preaching again.
His words were a melody that moved us to tears
His wit and his humor melted our fears.
With words true and deep, fluent and fine,
He begged, "Let's name this new pouch, this thingie of mine!"
How about SCOOPER, or AWES, or maybe NEW BUM?
Please keep them coming, this really is fun!
More popular than a rock star with a harem and groupies,
The name that won out, would you believe...SHAPOOPIE!
Dignity gone, but stronger than most
"Oh, what a Savior!" in Him would he boast.
This journey's been long, the blessings too many
Even the visit from Leon and Jimmy.
An example to all, he's fought the good fight,
King Jesus is Lord, full of great power and might.
Now, let's flee this joint, it's time to go!
His only request...for us to know
Each other one day beyond cyber space
For this family of God to meet face to face.
One day soon we'll meet up above,
Bless be the tie of brotherly love.
Victory in Jesus, assurance be thine
Oh, what a foretaste of healing divine!

We love you guys!

I love Sonya's poem; although it does make it tough to follow. This will seem so boring, but... Rock on, Pastor Aaron!
We're so happy for you!

[eerie pipe-organ music starts...cue the lightning] "Muuwaaahaa haa haaa! It's aliiiivvve! Muuwaaahaa haaa haaaaaa!" [In my best mad-scientist typing]....

"Igorrr....., load the taco's, (oh, and, hold the refried beans..... for now, ... Muuwaaahaa haa haaaa)." [Cue the dragon lady]...."initiate count down... and prepare for intubation! Muuwwaaahaa haa haaa!"

"Let us see what that nurse thinks now !! Muuwaaaahaa haa haaaa!" [eerie organ gets louder (pun intended)....]

Remember... God sometimes works in mysterious ways.... :]

Love ya bro!

We are so happy for your progress. I know that that must be soooooo weird! New normal becomes a wonderful normal! We will pray that each time will become easier and more "normal".

The boys went back and forth over tonight's knock knock joke and they couldn't ever agree on which one to send. Therefore, you are getting a two for one sale tonight!

Caleb's joke:

Knock Knock

Who's There?

Doris

Doris Who?

Doris locked, that's why I had to knock!

Daniel's joke:

Knock Knock

Cook

Cook Who?

Hey! Who are you calling cuckoo?

Oh my they are silly little boys! Enjoy your night and your "new normal". Love ya,

The Traylors

So glad to hear of your progress. You should consider keeping this website up and running after you leave the hospital, up until Jesus comes...and do daily or otherwise occasional devotionals and we'll have a prayer community on here. What do ya think? I vote yes.

Bless your heart,
WW
