Good morning!
We are up - had a bath - sponge - no shower for a WHILE yet, had a walk and ready for the day! As soon as Aaron got back in bed he said, "you have to post, this is Sunday and i want them to hear before church." He is always thinking of you all.
Still not having much luck sleeping at night - of course when you are awakened every hour to irrigate, check vitals, etc. it is understandable. Had a little low grade fever the last couple of days - but they are not that concerned. We do not have a word about his anemia yet. They drew more blood this morning about 5:00 a.m. we will find out later this morning the final word on what the plan of attack is for that.
He is getting a little stir crazy. For a very active guy laying in bed all day - punctuated by sitting in a chair - only to be rewarded by a couple of very short walks is kinda hard to deal with. His pain is much better so he is ready to 'get on with this'. Patience is not his strong suit! But he is being a very good patient. All the staff are wonderful, and as we were told the first day ,"choose" to work on this floor with these patients. So they are specially trained for BCIR patients.

I am so happy things are going well. I know lying in bed and sitting in a hospital wears thin very quickly, but I am so thankful for the results and know that God is at work to bring you both back to us quickly. On the way to church where I know you will be the main topic of conversation as everyone loves you dearly. Can't wait to get my hugs! Love you,

So glad to hear things are better. Johnny did good in the pulpit this morning. We are so blessed to have many Godly leaders in our church, but it's just not the same without our Shepherd. Bill and I sat by three first time visitors this morning (a couple were members from our former church, another a lady we met a few weeks ago). We had lunch with the couple and their two children after church and told them all about Aaron and let them know what they were missing out on, during his absence :-)
I saw a youtube video of a 35 year old male body builder who had the same procedure as Pastor and he was able to dead lift 675 pounds, 8 months after surgery. It's amazing how God created our bodies with the ability to recover. Praise God!
Uncle Aaron, I know how hard it is to be stuck unable to do much. I promise that you can get through it and you will come through it stronger than ever. I will keep praying for you. Love ya'll.

What an awesome God we serve!! We had a moving service with Zach Norman and the youth leading us in worship! How Great Thou Art and I Stand Amazed in the Presence never sounded so good :) Johnny delivered a powerful message from God. Our General has done a marvelous job preparing his troops for his absence, but he is still missed. We miss you both and pray Banana Popsicle Day comes fast!! It sounds like things are going really well, and we are really grateful! I know it's hard to be patient and stay in bed so much , but I also know that you guys are being incredible witnesses to the medical staff and everyone else you come into contact with. Think of it as "horizontal witnessing". Now that I read that... I just don't know. Oh well, maybe it will bring a chuckle or two!

My brother, we long to have you well and back with us at Summit, because when part of the body is gone and in pain, we all suffer, just as the whole body suffers when even the smallest part is in pain. But more than that selfish desire, we desire for God's perfect will to be accomplished in your life. I know that you probably are impatient to progress and to break the mold for recovery, and we applaud your tenacity in the face of difficulty. However, I encourage you to remember that every challenge that comes our way has a spiritual purpose, for us, and often for others as well. In the midst of the struggle, remember that almost always, the purpose is manifested in the path, and not as the end itself. Some of us are stubborn by genetics and by choice (I've been there, done that, guilty as charged), and God is patient to teach us, to discipline us, and to use us according to His purposes. Surely many things have changed in your lives in recent years. Take time to be still and know that He is God, and to seek and contemplate what God's purpose(s) might be for you and others as you tread this path. Perhaps you walk this path solely for the sake of another, or, as the blind man, solely so that one day the glory of the Son of God may be illustrated through you, or perhaps God has placed you here to change you in some way. Since He already gave you such a wonderful help-mate in Denise, I doubt He put you to sleep to make you an Eve out of what was removed. Maybe He just wanted you to fast and pray :] I don't know, brother, but we both know Who does know! Don't miss the purpose as you speed towards the goal.

Dear Pastor Aaron and Denise, today Johnny preached a great message and the youth lead the music and it was a great day to be in the house of the Lord. We missed both of you and everyone was in prayer for you. We are all so encouraged with your progress each day. We love you and continue to be in our prayers.

So glad to hear Aaron didn't have to forego his weekly bathing experience, even in the hospital! Did he tell them not just his feet but his hands and his head as well? We love you guys--still praying!!
We are so glad to hear you are doing better. Each day ahead means one day closer to the banana popsicle and then on to complete healing!! Hang in there with the tubes...they do eventually come out!! We are still praying constantly for you guys. By the way, Joshua said to tell you "peace out dog".
