End of day 12 - a praise

Friends,
Thank you for praying!! we have had success!! kinda . . . his bladder has acted but it has been a most painful day. I suppose because the bladder has had such a hard time waking that it is still going too slow. He actually had to have a pain shot this afternoon the first since the day after surgery. He has also pushed his button several times. He is resting now - easy. Please pray that things continue to progress - there is a standing order to replace the catheter should he continue to have difficulty. We do not want that to happen. It is so hard to watch him hurt.
I have so enjoyed reading - singing the hymns that you all have posted. Probably no one 'enjoys' praise chorus' more than me - but you just can't beat those old hymns. We tend to not like to think about our sin problem, and how it took a lot of perfect blood to cover it. It is so much more pleasant to sing "He's got the whole world in His hand's . . ." I am not being critical it just makes it all seem so much more pleasant - than, say . . . "Washed in the Blood.'" . . . And Calvary was not very pleasant . . . I think maybe if we are reminded of the cost of our Salvation regularly and the just how Holy the God we serve is, and that He knows just how much our salvation cost . . . we might live a little differently. . . guess i'm preachn' now - or medlin . . .

Aaron/Denise - You are so much in our thoughts and prayers. It has been great to have a "blow-by-blow" commentary on your health, your love and your faith and love for our Lord and Savior. (Aaron, you are still my "hero". Much love - Margaret Buchanan

Is it possible that so many people have ever prayed for a bladder before? Technology certainly has it's limitations, but what a blessing it has been to shed light on your journey and focus the prayers of His people.

It's interesting that my wife posted the words to Blessed Assurance because I was playing with those lyrics myself when the idea of a hamburger was on the horizon

Blessed Assurance this hamburger's mine
O what a fortaste of cooked up bovine
Please don't remind me it chews on it's cud
I'll even eat one prepared by Jud

This is my story, this is my song
Soon I'll have a Big mac, it won't be too long
This is my story, this is my song
I'm convinced it's health food, don't tell me I'm wrong.

OK, so writing songs is not my forte. I'm no Barry Manilow after all.

Hopefully humor is a slight diversion to the situation. Serious prayers follow close behind. I'm praying that His presence will increase and your pain will decrease.

I am glad to hear the success! The prayers will continue. Your testimony of strength and endurance through this time has been a blessing. Thank you for sharing what God is teaching you every day. You will never know the impact that you are making in the lives of people. Be encouraged and stay strong.
I am reminded of the chorus that says:
Oh may all who come behind you find you faithful
May the fire of your devotion light their way.
May the footprints that you leave
lead them to believe,
and the lives we've lived
Inspire them to obey.
Oh may all who come behind you find you faithful.
Thanks for being faithful to God's call on your life.

Hello Aaron and Denise!

Denise, I don't remember actually meeting you in person, but Aaron, I have met you several times and so enjoyed it! (I am Kathy Ratcliffe's sister from Huntsville). I brought my girls over for VBS again this year hoping to get to visit with you...only to find out that you were in FL. I was so sad! Since that first Monday, I have been keeping up with your blogs andn feel like I have come to know both of you personally. I have shared some of your story with my pastor, Robby White, and have passed on your blogspot to him, as well.(hope that was ok!!). I felt compelled to finally write and tell you that you have been in our thoughts and prayers and you will continue to be. I'm so inspired by what I've read about your faith and your relationship with one another. Thank you.

P.S. And I'm with Dan and Kathy...as long as I'm in AL and can't get Whataburger, you can't talk about that!!! But at least that first popsicle was banana!!! YUMMMMM!!! lol :-)

Preach It Girl!

You are so right on, In “Be Joyful”, Warren Wiersbe tells the story of a missionary attending a religious festival in Brazil. As he went from booth to booth checking out the wares he observed a sign above one booth: “Cheap crosses.” The missionary thought this is what many Christian are looking for today—cheap crosses.
We all need to remember the cost that Christ paid that we should be more than willing to sacrifice for Him. It ain’t about easy believing, it’s surrender & obedience.

Sure hope all the bosses parts get to working soon.

This may be worth the read

I don't know if anyone has posted this old hymn yet or not, but I have been singing Because He lives for you guys recently!

The boys were so sad to hear that they caused Aaron pain with their knock knock joke, so they told me that we needed to find one for today that would only make his eyes laugh and not his belly! :) After reviewing MANY jokes, they both decided that this one might make him smile, but not laugh! (They really are concerned over his pain today!)

Knock Knock

Who's There?

Abby

Abby Who?

Abby good if you give me a dollar.

We love you and are praying fervently for the pain to subside (and the sorrow of watching the pain be removed!). Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say Rejoice!! (God kept bringing those verses back to me when I was having to watch Mark go through all of the mess of his hand when he cut his fingers off).
