Day 8 - 9:35 a.m.

Sweet friends,

If you had any doubt let me tell you - PRAYER WORKS!! As i write this post Aaron is eating a banana Popsicle . . . yip eee!! One day before schedule!!! woo hoo!!! Thank you sweet Jesus! As i wrote last evening his tummy started to rumble his output changed and the digestive system decided to work. The Lord spoke and said it is time.
I have to tell you what happened yesterday afternoon. I have to confess Aaron and i were a little blue, he had not felt very well all day and there just didn't seem to be any reason to believe things were going to improve any time soon. I had the blinds closed because Aaron can rest better when it is darker in the room. I sat on the couch and for some reason felt the urge to push back the blinds, just a bit, and as i did the most beautiful rainbow came into view. It was in the perfect place for me to see almost the complete bow! I don't know how many of you know, but rainbows are 'one of my favorite gifts that God has given '! The tears flowed and sweet release came, God spoke, my language, and said its gonna be ok. Within the hour the nurse heard his tummy rumble. You know . . . if the God of the universe can stop and paint a rainbow in the sky in just the perfect place at just the perfect time just for me - - - what can't He do? Remember what He told Job.
I love you all. . . thanks for standing in the gap

Denise, As I was reading your post, I had my 6 yr old granddaughter, Marley, on my lap. I read it aloud to her and explained how God sent the rainbow to show you his love and give you hope. Isn't it wonderful that God can send us messages that even the smallest of his children can understand. I am sending my love and prayers for a wonderful day and "another popsicle". Millie

Praise be to the God of thunder and lightning, of heaven's expanse and the sparrow's wings, of rainbows and rumbling stomachs...and, of course, big banana popsicles.

Our God is good. I hope you both have a great day.

It's funny how emotions work. As poignant and touching as Aaron's post was yesterday...I didn't start tearing up until I read about the bananna popsicle! And then the rainbow! What an amazing, thoughtful God we serve. Now, where are my Kleenex?

Bananna...Manna...Hmmm

P.S....I want share a personal answered prayer with you....

Taylor asked Jesus to come into her heart last week and she joined the church last Sunday. She will be 'babsatized', as she called it when she was younger, on Aug.3.

I don't know if you know Evangelists Bud and Barbara Lee or not, but his most favorite saying is "God is Good, All the Time, and All the Time, God is Good!!!!

Hooray for the banana popsicle! The boys are jealous that Pastor Aaron gets to eat the popsicle without suffering through some broccoli trees first!
You're never far from our hearts!
We continue to pray every time you cross our minds - which, let me tell you, is a lot!
We love you!

After such joyous news who could not break out in song: "The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." Psalm 126.3

Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Let the earth hear His voice,
Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Let the people rejoice,
Oh come to the Father thro' Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory, Great things He hath done!!

Praise Jesus!!! What a joyful noise to hear rumblings in the tummy and receive that long awaited taste of semi solid food. Been where you are Aaron and God is so so good!

Sweet Denise- What a feeling of peace Aaron has when he opens his eyes even briefly and can see you there. Nurses are good, but someone you love caring for you is bestest.

Love and prayers,
Tricia

Hi Denise and Aaron,
Just to let you know Steve and I are also prayer warriors in your army (rather in God's). We have been keeping up with your progress via the blog. Gail and Joe King were here for the Cochran reunioun last weekend, and I told them about your surgery and showed them your blog, so they also are keeping tabs on you. I praise God for your porgress. God is good - all the time - even in the dark days.
When you feel like laughing at my expense (as many others have), read the story on my blog - http://awritershumor.blogspot.com - "Boy, them ain't cantaloupes."
Know we love you and continue praying for you.

You've spoken of needing his smile. I guarantee you that your beautiful smile that God has given you has had healing power of its own. Just ask your guy.

You know Denise, at the very time we are so vulnerable, so focused, so in tune with the Lord and willing to sacrifice ourselves… At the point when nothing else matters!
“He Shows Himself in a way that melts you in His Arms,” and now you Feel His Comfort surrounding you. You now know He Is Here and your prayers are answered. Only those who truly give in to Him can feel this love. THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL.
You are Blessed….

I have read all these posts, comments, and replies and I am speechless. And like others have shared already - when you hurt, we hurt; when you cry, we cry; when you love, we love; when you laugh, we laugh.

What other religion can share such sweet fellowship?

We love you both. Prayers and big hugs.

Aaron, Denise, Can you even conceive of how many prayers are uttered each day for you, from so many places? We're privileged to be part of those--and love you dearly, as we have for more years than you may care to remember! You are each dear to our hearts. God's answers to prayer always bring us to new wonder in what He does. Surely you are nestled in His arms.
Love you, Rosalie and Bob

Pastor and Denise,

Praise God for such sweet, sweet blessings. Praise Him from whom all blessings flow. Now, my question is, do we own stock in kleenex? We should. We could build the new building with all the tissues we've had to use just in the last couple of days. What an awesome, powerful testimony you two are in how faithful and merciful our Lord is.
We love you both very much. Prayers and blessings to you both.

Love,

Bobby & Joy Carroll

I am constantly amazed at how good God is from "a rumbly in the tumbly" to a perfectly timed and placed rainbow. Detail oriented barely begins to describe it!!

Praise God for the strength and comfort He is giving you right now. You have been and will be in our prayers. Keep the posts coming!! I can't wait to see what God has in store next.

A Green Olive Tree

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God for ever and ever Psalm 52.8

God's love takes those hard things we experience and uses them ... allowing us to discover that joy comes out of your response to sorrows, pains, disappointments, grief and yes to the good things of life.
Being aware of His dependable constant love allows us to say, "Well now God knows about this...I (we) are in His hands...
