Day 9 9:40 a.m.

Good morning!
A good nights rest is wonderful!! Five hours last night i think! Two nights in a row!! woohoo!!
They took Aaron's cath out 'again' this morning. Please pray that the bladder cooperates and does its job today - quickly! He started a clear liquid diet to day - so far one cup of grape juice and a glass of water. If all progresses tomorrow he gets a full liquid diet and the next day, FOOD! He may even get a burger!!! Wendy's is across the street and McDonald's is down the street, Tom Tom is ready to find any he wants!! You know hamburgers are one of God's great gifts to man!!
Amazingly he has not lost any weight. They have him on a high protein, high calorie nutritional supplement that is injected into the blood stream, not the abdomen, that is designed to maintain your weight. They will wean him off this as his appetite increases.
Have a blessed day!
nise

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! What a mighty, awesome, loving, healing Savior!!!

Denise, I have been thinking about rainbows a lot lately for some reason. Remembered a cross-stitched picture we have - "It takes sunshine and rain to make rainbows ...” Thank you Jesus for working in us and through us to perfect our salvation every day. Unfortunately for our humanness, the perfection can sometimes mean the hard times (I seem to recall a visual demonstration about gold, dross, blow torches, etc.). Thank you both for being a living, breathing testimony of strength being made perfect in weakness.

It is both an honor and a privilege to petition our Creator on your behalf. We love you, Russ & Sandy

I thought I should leave a comment because I have been following your blog ever since denae posted the link on facebook. My heart goes out to you in this time, I know the hospital is a hard place to be (much less live for awhile!). You all have been in my thoughts and prayers recently. I hope for a swift(er?) recovery and for you (Aaron) to be able to eat a burger soon!

Sincerely-
Sara (Chandler) Ogles :)

“Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again. I will praise you for your faithfulness, O my God…” Psalm 71:20-22

Lately this has been my verse of comfort. I hope it holds something for you today.

We are thankful for the good report! We will be praying for hamburgers! :) We're headed to TN to finalize some business for mama & daddy, so we'll take you with us in our hearts and continue to pray! Y'all are loved!

A cheeseburger in paradise........ well not quite but I'll bet after 9 or 10 days it will taste like paradise. Praise God for His providence and Grace.

Prayerfully continuing,

fantastic!

Nutritional supplements! Whatever!

It will take far more than surgery and lack of food to make a man like Aaron Johnson waste away to nothing. There's enough man there for at least 2 and a half normal men!

I'm eating a hamburger for you today brother. Love you
JL

Brother Aaron and Denise,
Tears came to my eyes earlier just reading the post updates and seeing your faithfulness. There have been a couple of days this week when I couldn't check the post for the day and I wondered ALL night what was going on. The truths that you have shared Denise during this time are so sweet and heartfelt. Thank you! You are such an example to all wives out there in the way we should care for our husbands each and every day. My aim is to always love Ben with the same admiration, love and respect you have for each other. I pray that things will start progressing more "swiftly" and that the hamburger craving is just around the corner!! Banana popsicle....I am interested to try that...
Love,
Candice Rogers

Jason Teal and I were sharing memories of you (Aaron), and laughing at how "you know you are loved if Aaron won't leave you alone". I just got the parallel perspective between you and the Lord. When things get rough He won't leave us alone either. His faithfulness is often evident through those in His service. Hope you feel the love as we continue to lift you up. Jamie

At the end of "A Psalm of Life," Longfellow says:

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sand of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solenm main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us then be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

Bro. Aaron and Denise, your walk has left footprints which God will use to encourage and prepare untold others "with a heart for any fate."

I thank God daily for your witness and the boldness with which you live for Christ.

Great news. We know from first hand, God answers prayers and y'all are getting a bunch from Guntersville and I'm sure every other place you've served in. We are in our thoughts constantly. The doctors don't want me to eat hamburgers, but I still enjoy one of those Wendy's doubles ocassionally. Hang in there.

Love,

Jim and Judy Butler

Dear Aaron and Denise, I hope you have had a good day. I saw your post this morning but could not comment then. But now, it is great to hear that there may be liquids flowing through the body soon. Aaron, Aaron, have you not learned yet to pace yourself (spoken just like a Mother Hubbard). Your body is in shock from MAJOR surgery and you are treating it like a work horse, get up and go and go more. Do not be so anxious. Phillippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus....
I am praying that God heals your body in a mighty way in his timing.
Love, Linda Ward

I know Pastor didn't need to lose weight, but dog gone it, I would've wanted to shed a couple of extra pounds (grin).

Praise God for restful sleep, wives like Denise and brave men like Pastor Aaron.

Thank you Lord for answering the prayers of your people and bringing healing to Aaron. Please wrap your loving arms around Denise and the kids. Bless Denise with an added measure of energy and peace.
