End of day 10 7:25 p.m.

Greetings from St. Pete,
I promise i got my whining over!!
We have just spoken with the doctor - Aaron does not have a bladder infection. So i suppose he is just having a 'down' day. They are going to keep check the rest of the weekend and leave the cath in till Monday and the Urologist is back. They will probably try again Monday to remove the catheter. Thanks for all the prayers - i suppose we just needed a lazy stay - in -bed - day.
Everything else is on schedule. I truly believe strength wise he is well ahead of schedule!! Tomorrow promises to be an eventful day! He gets 1/2 of his staples out and 'maybe' one of the drains - woo hoo !! He gets to start a full liquid diet - they will clamp the G-tube to see how his stomach handles 'food'. If all progresses he will get 'real' food Monday. Maybe that is why we needed the rest today! I know my Father always knows best!
Russ we will make a date for that Varisty burger when we get back!! it's the experience not the food - haha!!! - - - 'whata ya have . . .'
Richard we gonna' need some of that BBQ i've heard so much about . . .
You all will never know what your words of encouragement have meant to both Aaron and me - your words and prayers are what's getting us through this!

Talk with you all tomorrow - enjoy services for us . . .
love ya

I don't have anything to say...I just wanted to be the first one to blog. It seems to be a coveted position!!!

I realize NASCAR is big in the South but do you have to jockey for position on the blog as well??

Any time you want the BBQ we are good to go. A suggestion: wait 'till you can have solid food. While I do have a blender, it probably won't taste as good. But what do I know. You southerners deep fry twinkies so hey...

Pastor Aaron and Denise,
I'm sorry to hear about more roller coaster activity. Denise, you can whine anytime. Like someone else said, that's what we're here for. You and Aaron have had to sit through a few of my whine sessions before and encouraged me through it. Now it's my turn. Isn't that awesome that God put the body of Christ together for times like this? I wouldn't know what to do without my sisters and brothers in Christ! There are seasons we get to minister to others and receive blessings from above for it. Then there are those times we are blessed by others reaching out to us when we are vulnerable and weak. Thank you for allowing us all to be here for you as you ride this roller coaster in life. We will all continue to pray without ceasing. We will miss you tomorrow and can't wait for you to return.
In Him,
Dee

Hey, just finished up preparing to fill in for Mac as he is filling in for you and just wanted to share a point. In the story of Job at the end when God has spoken/questioned Job, Job responds, "I had heard rumors about You, but now my eyes have seen You." You are seeing God and we are able to see him through you.

Will prayed both for you both by name at diner tonight as we all are all day.

Our van stranded me on I-85 two miles from the Alabama border today, just as I was looking for an opportunity to jump off for a potty break. I was about to start hollering at God when He reminded me that I was perfectly capable of heading off into the woods there, whereas my brother Aaron was not...so you were the subject of the rest of my conversation with Him as I made it up to the next exit. Hang in there!!!

In regards to the previous post....please don't take it as being insensitive. It was a stab at making you laugh!! You know me-always worried about how things come across!!

Brother,

You have walked down some difficult paths in your life, including the surgery for cancer. However, this has been harder for you than the cancer, by your own admission. As you taught several months ago, those who have never been near the end of their rope in a storm with none to save them except One, have never fully known the sweetness of the grace, mercy, and love of our Lord. Reading in the Psalms about David's times of despair is different from walking through them. So, even though it is difficult, praise God for your difficulty because you have the opportunity to know and experience Him now as you may not have known Him before, even compared to when you went through the previous surgery.

It is obvious from the host of posts that there are people in many places that love you and are willing to pray for you. However, perhaps this situation is also an opportunity for you and Denise to be loved by God through the flock at Summit in ways that until now, you have not. Perhaps as we have discussed before, this is for you to grow and for the flock to grow in spiritual depth and ministry.

This is not a meaningless time for you! But even if it were, God owes us nothing except that which He has promised! We are blessed, as are you, that He chose to love us and to save us! However, because we know that He loves us and you, we will continue to pray.

May God lead our prayers through the Holy Spirit, who searches all things, even the depths of God; and conform our thoughts and prayers for you to His perfect will, for that is when we will receive the things for which we ask.

Hang in there brother, and wait upon the Lord. Give Denise a hug for us too.

Chris

Was just thinking about Robert's post about being an "outsider". I thought much about this subject when Aaron first accepted the position at Summit. It occured to me back then how much Aaron has tied together the community of believers at Summit with those in far away exotic places like Athens, Boaz, and Guntersville. Aaron speaks so often of you all that we at Summit feel very close to you folks. I enjoy seeing your comments on the blog and always try to think of a time when Aaron may have lovingly and fondly and tearfully mentioned a name or place there. What a blessing to have those of you in Guntersville, Boaz, and Athens (and all the places Aaron has trod in Alabama) to call as our brothers and sisters in Christ and to share in "loving on" Aaron and Denise together. As special as Aaron and Denise are to us, we know you feel the same about them, too. God bless all of you who are praying for Aaron and Denise (and Jordan and Danae, too). We feel a kinship with you and hope you feel likewise about us at Summit Baptist. Come see us sometime and please, never ever think of yourselves as an "outsider" or an ex-congregation! We think of you as family!

Denise,

What do you mean it's not the food? No better place for an oil change than the V!! (except maybe Waffle House)

AJ might have had a bladder infection after all - God may have just answered the prayers faster than the doctors could diagnose.

Praying for a good, restful day and more drain removals! We are with you in spirit.

Much love, Russ & Sandy
